News of the Weird
Last April, a 70-year old Tennessee man, wanted for murder
in Virginia, was finally arrested after 22 years on the run.
The victim was killed in a restaurant parking lot where he and the
the suspect worked as chefs. The victim was killed when the two chefs
got into a basic pre-dawn curving knife duel.
The site is central Kansas. A 15-year old boy fell from the top
of a 64-foot high water well to his death. Ironically, before he
fell, he just finished graftti the words "No Fear."
In Northern England, a professor and his research team issued an
amazing final study. He studied that people who think exercising
without actually doing it, lost about half the weight of the
same people actually doing exercise. The same people was examined
when not doing anything and lost no weight. The final thought from
the professor was that when the nuerons twitch the muscles in the
brain and thus the body, exercising is being done inside the body.
In February, Cairo laywer Mustafa Raslan filed a $1 billion dollar
lawsuit saying U.S. President Clinton alleged sexual antics make it
more difficult for him to raise his childrenwith good moral
standards (whatever that means).
In December, Sheik Buddy Rasheed, a mayor in Jordan, told the media
he wanted to sue President Clinton for naming his dog Buddy. He said
he lost much prestige from his local community. (He didn't sue in the
long run because no lawyer would take his case).
Los Angeles had just voted 9 to 1 in the city coucil, agreeing to
pay $9 million dollars to five victims of a drunk driver whose car
wandered across a center line and hit the van they were riding in.
This vote was in coordinance with the $27 million dollar settlement
and L.A> needs to pay 57% of that amount. The court said the drunk
driver may not have crossed over the center line if the city was
responsible. According to the judge, L.A. is irresponsible because
the yellow line at the center of the road isn't bright enough.
(these are you tax dollars).
